GTA 6 Planes and Helicopters: Every Aircraft Shown So Far

Leonida is a big state, and sometimes the fastest way across it is straight over the top. For a while the flying picture was frustratingly thin, plenty of helicopters, no real planes. That has changed. Recent footage finally shows Jason piloting a plane over Vice City, and it looks incredible. So here is the fully updated rundown of GTA 6 planes and helicopters, with every aircraft split cleanly into what Rockstar has officially shown and what has only leaked.

Quick Answer

GTA 6 planes are real and flyable. Recent gameplay footage shows Jason piloting a crop-duster biplane over Vice City in both daytime and at night, and Rockstar has officially named Vice City International Airport. On the helicopter side, the Sea Sparrow, an amphibious chopper on the box art, is the clearest confirmation, alongside a Police Maverick. The catch: the clearest flying footage comes from the CyberLeek leak, which is unofficial but widely believed genuine, while Rockstar’s official material confirms the airport and a plane at Jason’s boatyard job. Specific plane names like the Dodo and Shamal still come from the 2022 leak, not Rockstar. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

GTA 6 Planes Are Now Flying: What the Footage Shows

GTA 6 planes flying over Vice City, featuring a vintage biplane above the coastal city skyline.

This is the big change since our last update, so let us be precise about where it comes from.

A run of gameplay clips from the leaker known as CyberLeek shows Jason flying a blue-and-yellow crop-duster biplane over Vice City, once in broad daylight and once at night. Fans have been floored by it, and honestly, so were we. The draw distance is enormous, the city below is dense with traffic, boats, and lit windows, and it looks closer to Microsoft Flight Simulator than to anything in GTA 5. At one point you can even see the setup to jump out of the plane mid-flight.

These leak clips are not from Rockstar, so we file the flying itself as leaked. But two things back it up on the official side. Rockstar has named Vice City International Airport, which is clearly visible and enormous in the flight footage, and the official Extended Look shows a plane at Jason’s boatyard job, where he and Cal load contraband. Add the fact that Rockstar has been issuing DMCA takedowns on the leaked clips, which ironically suggests they are the real thing, and the picture is clear: you will be flying planes in GTA 6.

  • good to Know

The old line that “no plane has been shown in GTA 6” is out of date. Planes are in, and they are flyable. What is still unofficial is the specific flying footage, which leaked, and the plane names, which came from 2022. The airport and the existence of aircraft are confirmed.

Confirmed Helicopters

Helicopters were always the stronger half, because Rockstar put them on screen early.

The clearest is the Sea Sparrow, an amphibious light helicopter with pontoons that let it land on water. It appears in the first trailer and, tellingly, on the official box art. Rockstar does not put vehicles on cover art casually, and for a state built around coastline, keys, and swamps, a chopper that lands on water makes perfect sense. The Police Maverick also shows up in pursuit scenes, and an attack-style chopper has been spotted in footage, with a police variant in Ultimate Edition art.

Vice City International Airport

Rockstar has named Vice City International Airport, and the recent flight footage shows it from above looking massive. An airport this size is not set dressing. It signals a full aviation layer to the map, the place you will store, spawn, and take off in aircraft, exactly as airports worked in past GTA games. Expect smaller airstrips out in the rural regions too, given how much open land Leonida has.

The Leaked Plane Names

Search for a confirmed gta 6planes list and you will find tidy line-ups naming the Dodo seaplane, the Shamal private jet, the Western Duster biplane, and the JoBuilt Mammatus. They get copied everywhere, but they trace back to the 2022 leak, not to Rockstar. Some may well prove accurate, leaks often do, and the crop duster now shown flying lines up with a “Duster” being real. But a leaked file is still not a confirmation, so treat these names as rumor until Rockstar says them out loud.

Will GTA 6 Have Good Plane Physics?

Analysis: Early signs are very promising. The leaked flight footage looks smooth and cinematic, with a returning free camera and a sense of scale that had fans comparing it to a dedicated flight sim rather than a crime game. You appear to be able to bail out of a plane in mid-air, which points to the same seamless, do-anything freedom GTA is known for. Rockstar has not detailed the actual flight model, stall behaviour, or controls yet, so how it truly handles is still unconfirmed, but nothing shown so far suggests a downgrade from GTA 5’s flying.

Aircraft Likely to Return

Based on the map and the series’ history, expect a broad roster beyond the crop duster. Seaplanes are almost a given with this much water, private jets suit Vice City’s wealthy set, blimps have been a GTA staple, and light aircraft and gliders fit the rural north. We cannot name the final list, because Rockstar has not, but a state this size with a major airport is not going to ship with a thin sky.

GTANerd Analysis

Put the pieces together and a clear design idea emerges. An amphibious helicopter on the box art, airboats in the swamp, a huge international airport, and now a crop duster gliding over a photoreal Vice City. Rockstar is building Leonida around the fact that a big chunk of the map is water, coast, and open sky, not solid road. In GTA 5, aircraft were mostly a way to skip a drive. In GTA 6, flying looks like it could be a genuine pleasure in its own right, the kind of thing you do just to watch the world go by from altitude. If the flight model matches how good the footage looks, the sky over Leonida might be one of the best parts of the whole game.

  • Pro tip

Rockstar usually saves official aircraft reveals for later marketing, because planes look flat in short cinematic trailers. If a gameplay-focused trailer drops before launch, that is where the official plane roster and names will likely appear.

Our Verdict

The Strategist

Confirmed:

GTA 6 planes are real and flyable. Footage shows Jason piloting a crop-duster biplane over Vice City day and night, and Rockstar has officially named Vice City International Airport. On the helicopter side, the amphibious Sea Sparrow leads straight off the box art, joined by a Police Maverick and an attack chopper. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

The Wildcard

Unconfirmed:

The clearest flying footage comes from the CyberLeek leak rather than an official Rockstar release, and the specific plane names in circulation, the Dodo, Shamal, and Duster, come from the 2022 leak. The full aircraft roster, official names, flight stats, and hangar ownership are all still unconfirmed until Rockstar shows them directly.

Sources & Verification

Confirmed aircraft and Vice City International Airport are drawn from Rockstar’s official trailers, screenshots, box art, and the Extended Look. The plane flight footage comes from the CyberLeek gameplay leak, which is unofficial and labelled as a leak, though it is widely believed genuine and Rockstar has issued takedowns against it. Specific plane names originate from the 2022 leak and are treated as unverified. GTANerd is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
