Why People Assume a Collector’s Edition Exists

The assumption is reasonable, which is exactly why it spreads. Here is where it comes from.

Big releases usually get one. Publishers routinely offer a top-tier physical package with a statue or a display piece, aimed at superfans and collectors willing to pay a premium. For a game as large as GTA 6, that expectation is almost automatic. People are not inventing the idea from nothing, they are pattern-matching against how the industry normally behaves.

The problem is that GTA 6 has not behaved normally in several ways already, and the edition structure appears to be another one.
